Musical Equipment
I've always had an interest in and enjoyment of music since early childhood and have very cherished memories of sitting
among my uncles and aunts (and parents of course) listening to the happy sounds of them playing bluegrass music on their
various instruments. I'm still going through my parents old photo albums and hope I come across photos of these occasional
gatherings of family and friends from that time in my life. I did learn an instrument (saxaphone) while in junior high school
band and learned through that to read music. I had an opportunity to take keyboard lessons offered to me by my parents
around that time but turned it down in favor of just running around with my friends... I've always regretted not taking them up
on that offer of keyboard lessons! I've since taken lessons for a simester in adult night school but it's more difficult to keep
up with things like that when working for a living. Since then I've retired and will get back into learning to play the keyboard
and other instruments I've inherited.
Over the years I've also obtained various synthesizer equipment, several amplifiers, as well as a few misc. effects and
worked on musical equipment projects.
My plan for this page (and sub-pages) is to show some of these and especially the projects, as this may be useful to others
who have similar interests. I will also try my hand at instrument repair - I have an acoustic guitar and ukulele that have
damage to the neck joint and back (guitar) and the uke's back has separated along the edge on one side. Should be
interesting for a project just to see if I can bring them back to good playable condition.
Here are a few links to project pages:
I built up a 'road case' to house my collection of Paia synthesizer modules
This is a series of three tiny analog synthesizers produced by Korg. They are really fun!
A series of digital mini-synths by Korg that are a step up from the monotrons.
The Paia version of the venerable theramin - the instrument you play without touching it.
